Texas LGBTQ organizations and drag queens have filed a lawsuit over a state regulation prohibiting “sexualized performances and drag exhibits within the presence of a minor.”
The laws, Senate Bill 12, was signed into regulation by Governor Greg Abbott in June.
The invoice applies to performances containing nudity and “the exhibition or illustration, precise or simulated, of sexual acts,” or performances that enchantment “to the prurient curiosity in intercourse … no matter whether or not compensation for the efficiency is predicted or obtained.”

A coalition of LGBTQ organizations represented by the American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit trying to cease it.
