On Thursday, The Gateway Pundit reported that anti-Israel college students had been arrested and suspended by Columbia College in New York Metropolis for organizing a pro-Hamas occupation on campus grounds.
Among the many arrestees from Barnard School, which is related to Columbia, was Rep. Ilhan Omar’s “angry black girl” daughter, Isra.
Barnard pupil Maryam Iqbal was additionally arrested and now appears shocked that there are penalties for her conduct.
Iqbal took to social media to complain that there are real-world consequences for real-world actions.
She wrote on X, “Simply acquired out of jail after Columbia known as NYPD to mass arrest 100+ college students. I’ve been suspended and evicted from housing by Barnard. This has solely strengthened my dedication to the motion for Palestinian liberation and I promise to proceed combating for divestment.”

“Giving us quarter-hour to pack up and depart from our housing is critically twisted. I’m not shocked in any respect — I’m glad administration is lastly displaying their face to the overall pupil physique, as a result of pupil organizers have identified from the beginning how evil these directors are.”
On the request of Columbia officers, NYPD engaged to disperse protestors and take away the encampment when the arrests occurred.

The arrests come on the heels of Columbia President Dr. Nemat “Minouche” Shafik’s testimony in entrance of Wednesday’s Home Training and the Workforce Committee listening to.
The listening to was targeted on the pervasive antisemitism on the Ivy League college in addition to demanding solutions to what penalties, if any, Professor Joseph Massad confronted after he penned an article praising the Oct. 7 Hamas terror assaults towards Israeli civilians. Massad praised Hamas militants as “superior,” “astonishing,” “astounding,” and “unimaginable.”
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) issued a press release following Shafik’s testimony:
“My assertion on @Columbia College’s failure to fight antisemitism following the inconsistent and unacceptable testimony from their campus management: “As we speak’s listening to of Columbia College president and board members epitomizes the failed management on “elite” faculty campuses to fight antisemitism and defend Jewish college students. From the college president’s ethical equivocation on antisemitism, to obviously inconsistent testimony relating to disciplinary motion and lack thereof taken towards antisemitic college students and pro-terrorist school, to astonishingly stating that there was no “anti-Jewish” protests on campus solely to then acknowledge that “F– the Jews” & “Dying to the Jews” is in-fact anti-Jewish when she was additional pressed.
Apparently, throughout a break, the witnesses had been overheard discussing how nicely they thought their testimony was going for Columbia. This vanity is eerily reminiscent to the earlier three college presidents who believed strolling out of the listening to that their testimony was acceptable. Columbia is in for a reckoning of accountability.
If it takes a member of Congress to power a college president to fireplace a pro-terrorist, antisemitic school chair, then Columbia College management is failing Jewish college students and its tutorial mission. No quantity of overlawyered, overprepped, and over-consulted testimony goes to cowl up for failure to behave.”
