New York Metropolis firefighters responded after the stories of the explosions and floor shaking on the 580 block of Primary Road, simply south of the Roosevelt Island Bridge & Tram, earlier than 6am.

The explosions precipitated energy outages on Roosevelt Island, abc7 stories.

Roosevelt Island is positioned in New York Metropolis’s East River, inside the borough of Manhattan. It lies between Manhattan Island to the west, and the borough of Queens, on Lengthy Island, to the east.
