Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell just isn’t pleased with the NFL’s reported stance on his crew’s latest eligibility controversy.
The Lions had their go-ahead two-point conversion wiped away within the closing minute of their 20-19 loss Saturday to the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The officers penalized Detroit for reporting the flawed offensive lineman — Dan Skipper as a substitute of Taylor Decker — as an eligible receiver on the play (video here).
A report from Professional Soccer Speak’s Mike Florio said Monday that the NFL pinned the blame on the Lions’ attempt “to interact in deception and gamesmanship” which merely “backfired” on them.
Campbell addressed the report in a Tuesday radio look on 97.1 The Ticket.
“Defenses disguise protection, isn’t that deception?” mentioned Campbell, via 97.1 The Ticket’s Will Burchfield. “So what the hell?”
Regardless of lingering frustration in regards to the eligibility points, Campbell sounded prepared to maneuver on throughout his Monday press convention. The Lions coach even went as far as to call the entire ordeal a “blessing” in disguise.
